The Mini Seminar:
Cost: $ 40.00
Time: 2+ hours
The Mini course is designed to discuss the principles behind Non-metallic Metal Color Schemes versus True Metallic Color Schemes and how to execute both processes. Furthermore, this mini class will feature the completion of an Age of Sigmar Stormcast Eternal in a radiant Non-metallic Metal Gold and a regal, contrasting Blue Shield and all the little details to boot! The models, paints, and brushes will be provided and are included in the cost of attendance. The models will be partially prepped prior to the class to facilitate a quick seminar where layering, glazing, shading, and detailing will be covered. This will be a fast-paced class that is tailored to the intermediate skill level. If you feel that this class may not be for you, still attend and you might surprise yourself.
This course is a free discussion based seminar where the science behind the art is revealed! We will discuss basic lighting, shading, color choice and principles, color theory, in addition to covering the various paint and equipment products available to the aspiring artist. This class will last 1-2 hours or as long as you all can stand my rambling!
Painter’s Paradise Clinic:
Length: 4+ hours
The painter’s paradise course will build upon all the topics discussed throughout the weekend and will result in each participant leaving with a painted miniature worthy of the coveted Forgemaster Hammer! Each participant will be supplied with the appropriate paints and brushes selected to best paint the miniature provided during the class. Topics that will be covered include but are not limited to: Zenithal Highlighting, base coating, highlighting with the airbrush, shading, glazing, edge highlighting, dry and wet brushing, weathering, true metallics, paint composition, freehand detailing, and lighting effects! Phew… that’s a lot to cover… That is why this class is a must attend event! Because this class covers a wide variety of topics and will result in an expertly painted model, the class size will be limited to only 10 individuals. Seating at this event will go fast and attendance guarantees uninterrupted access to the Firestorm Way of painting miniatures as well as the wealth of experience provided by Rick Casler. Those in attendance will also be able to ask questions about techniques not listed and receive hands-on training for those new topics. This is the premiere painting seminar and the artistic highlight of Crucible 6.5! To create some suspense, the model that will be painted will only be revealed on the first day of Crucible.
